    A native of NYC Spencer is a junior theatre major (with a performance concentration) and a psychology minor at The University of Vermont. Spencer is extremely excited to be interning at such a prestigious theatre company and to get an insight into the real theatre world. Spencer has been performing since he was very little having been in numerous musicals and being a member of the school choir and the Young People's Chorus of New York. Spencer hopes to learn all that he can about working with a real production team and hopes that he can help create an amazing show.

    Jamie is a soon to be a second year at Hampshire College. He was born in Madison, WI and has been involved with theather since he was 10 years old. He has appeared in over 20 productions at in the Madison area. He has also been involved in theater at college, performing in two shows and being elected to the colleges student run theatre board. He has also had two short works of his own performed, one in Columbia University's summer theatrical Collaboration program, and another at Hampshire's New Play Festival. His main aspiration is to write, though he also has hopes of acting.

    Caroline is completely thrilled to be a part of THE BLACK SUITS and the 2008 Summer Play Festival. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she has been involved in theater since elementary school. This coming fall, she will be a junior at Barnard College, where she is studying Theater and Art History. Barnard/Columbia stage-management credits include the 113th and 114th Annual Varsity Shows, and Into the Woods. She also serves on the Columbia University Performing Arts League executive board. She hopes to one day join the NYC theatre community as a professional stage manager.

    A Pasadena, California native, Heather is incredibly happy to be a part of the 2008 Summer Play Festival, and even more so to be a part of THE BLACK SUITS. In the fall Heather will be a junior at Barnard College, Columbia University where she is studying Theatre and Art History. Thus far, her college career has been spent stage managing/designing a multitude of departmental and student productions including: The 114th Annual Varsity Show (ASM) Statements After an Arrest Under the Immorality Act - Barnard Senior Thesis Festival 2008 (Set Design), XMAS 2! (Set Design), Into the Woods (PSM), The 113th Annual Varsity Show (ASM), ENDZONE dir. David Neuman (Prop Master/ASM).

  • Sam Gedymin

    Sam Gedymin was raised in Oconomowoc, WI. He attends the University of Wisconsin Stevens point as a senior in the BFA Acting program. Sam is also a writer and composer, engaged in projects such as "Tieam Us", a singing sketch comedy troupe. He plays his guitar and bass guitar, writes, reads, cooks, and gardens in his free time.

    Born and raised in NYC, Jess just graduated from Marymount School (the high school... not the college... it's a common misconception) and is excited to start attending Muhlenberg College this fall. Jess plans to be a theatre/music major and take some dance classes as well, seeing as how she's an aspiring actor who's slightly obsessed with musical theatre. She's been performing in an abundance of school musicals and plays since she was young, and is extremely excited to be a part of SPF and experience the other side of the stage that she hasn't been so familiar with. Apart from acting/singing/dancing, Jess enjoys writing, Yankee baseball, and yes, knitting and crocheting. Huzzah for theatre dorks!

  • Liza Luxenberg

    Liza is ecstatic to be working on The Black Suits as an SPF Intern. She is a rising Senior at Indiana University and will receive dual degrees in an Individualized Major Program in Stage Management and in Theater with a concentration in Acting. At Indiana, Liza has served as the lead Stage Manager on The Lee Norvelle Theater and Drama Center production of The Seagull, as Assistant Stage Manager for The Real Thing and Urinetown The Musical, and on the opera Arabella at the Jacobs School of Music. Upon graduation next spring, Liza hopes to move to New York and pursue her dreams as a Stage Manager. Liza is from Winter Park, Florida.

  • Andrew Maillet

    Andrew is a rising sophomore at Yale University, and he is delighted to be working as an intern this summer for SPF. Since birth, he has always enjoyed making people happy with theater. Along the way, he has written and directed an original musical "Defamation in the Fairyrealm," played Curly in "Oklahoma" and assistant directed a middle school production of Shakespeare's "Macbeth." Besides the theater thing, Andrew likes to compose music, read lots of good books, run, sing, sleep, eat, and frolic. YEAH SPF!!!!

    Max is a Journalism major and Theatre minor at Temple University, in Philadelphia, PA. As a journalist, Max has worked with The Temple News, an independently run print publication that services the Temple community, you can get his work at, just search Max McCormack. In the theater, Max has worked as a costume designer, assistant director, and actor in numerous productions in Westchester NY, Manhattan, and Philly. Max maintains a public blog about theater fashion and culture in New York City, visit to check it out. In his spare time, Max enjoys being "saucy", jumping on trampolines, and drinking obscene amounts of coffee.

    Elizabeth (or just Liz) is a rising junior and Theatre Arts concentrator at Brown University. Liz is currently focusing her studies on directing, but acting and writing are other passions Liz hopes to pursue as well. Liz also enjoys (in no particular order) free food, board games, text messaging and inside jokes (duck, duck, goose?). Liz will be spending the next fall studying at the London Dramatic Academy. Shout outs to the family at Rites and Reason Theatre. RIP Marsha Z. West (I love you Momma).
