Producers of the Summer Play Festival Create New Programming for 2010
The Living Room for Artists, producers of the highly successful Summer Play Festival, is creating a new series of programs to expand their work with emerging artists. To be developed in consultation with SPF’s alumni and Advisory Panel, these programs will complement and enhance SPF’s work.
The opportunity to create new programming coincides with planned construction at The Public Theater’s Lafayette Street home, and SPF’s hiatus in 2010. Founding Executive Producer, Arielle Tepper Madover said “SPF is a unique summer event, and we want to ensure that our patrons and artists receive the highest quality experience that we can create. As a result, we can take this exciting opportunity to try something new and different”.
SPF is planning to return to The Public Theater in 2011. Public Theater Artistic Director Oskar Eustis, talking about their relationship with SPF, said, “SPF has been a wonderful addition to our mission of supporting young artists, and we eagerly look forward to a long relationship in the future.”
